Swordfish pizzaiola-style is a dish that embodies the very soul of Mediterranean cuisine: simple, aromatic, and incredibly rich in flavor. The bold taste of swordfish combines with the freshness of tomato, the aroma of oregano, and the savory notes of Gaeta D.O.P. olives, creating a balanced and irresistible recipe. Easy and quick to prepare, it's ideal for those who want to bring a light yet highly expressive main course to the table.
INGREDIENTS:
400g swordfish
250g peeled tomatoes
50g Gaeta D.O.P. olives
1 clove garlic
Extra virgin olive oil
Fine salt to taste
Oregano to taste
Start by preparing a soffritto: in a large pan, heat the extra virgin olive oil with the lightly crushed garlic clove. Add the peeled tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat. Cut the swordfish steak into slices about 1 cm thick and place them in the pan. Cook for 3/4 minutes per side. Add the Gaeta D.O.P. olives and season with salt and oregano to taste. Turn off the heat and serve hot with a drizzle of raw extra virgin olive oil to enhance all the aromas. Enjoy!
